Who We Are
SSS Gears is a specialist engineering company based in Sunbury-on-Thames in the UK. We work closely with SSS Clutch Inc, our sister company in Delaware, USA and Paddock Gear Engineering, our manufacturing subsidiary in Tamworth, UK. The company is privately owned and the majority shareholder is the Harold Sinclair Trust, which operates for the benefit of the employees. As a result of the Trust, SSS takes a long-term strategic view on the company performance and direction and is proud of its independence. SSS continues to invest heavily to maintain and expand its worldclass facilities and manufacturing capacity.

What We Do
SSS designs, manufactures and supplies many variants of the SSS Clutch, a unique freewheel suitable for high powers and speeds in demanding applications. Since the company was founded in 1950, we have expanded the many applications where the SSS Clutch is used, strengthening it's 'fit and forget' reputation. The Product
The SSS Clutch is an automatic overrunning clutch that connects rotating shafts when the speed of the input shaft matches the speed of the output shaft. The mechanical design transmits power and torque through gear teeth making the SSS Clutch inherently stronger than other clutch designs and explains why SSS Clutches are used in demanding and high power applications like Power Generation and Naval Propulsion. Quality and Reliability
The SSS Clutch is designed to last beyond the life of the equipment it is used on. We expect the clutch to be the “fit and forget” component in the system it integrates into. We do offer service and after sales support for every clutch we have ever made, but as SSS Clutches can provide trouble free service for over 50 years, this has always been as a service to our customers not as a money making exercise. Our Customers
SSS typically supplies all new clutches to Original Equipment Manufacturers ( OEMs) as the SSS Clutch is normally integrated into another piece of equipment like a Power Station or a Naval Vessel.
